Whitfield's 21 points lead for LCC women to victory

Sarah Whitfield scored 21 points, and Carmen Williams, Sheena Cole and Jennifer Kimbrow added 16 apiece as Lane Community College's women's basketball team defeated Umpqua 89-81 on Wednesday.

Theresa Brown grabbed 16 rebounds for the Titans , who won their 66th consecutive home game and improved to 5-0 in Southern Division play and 16-3 overall this season.

Cassie Scheffelmnier led Umpqua witth 20 points, and Kristi Falin added 16.
