
Titans stretch win streak to six
10/04/2015 10:26The Lane Community College women’s soccer team kept its hot streak going on Saturday, beating visiting Portland Community College 12-0 for their sixth straight win by shutout.
Pikake Hix had four goals and an assist and Ann Goodrie added three goals and two assists for the Titans (8-3-1), who improved to 5-0-0 and remain in first place in the South Region of the Northwest Athletic Conference.
Lane led 4-0 after eight minutes following goals by Goodrie in the 1st and 7th minutes and own goals by Portland in the 4th and 8th minutes.
Goodrie, a sophomore midfielder from Thurston High, scored her seventh goal of the season in the 39th minute to put the Titans up 7-0, and they would lead 8-0 at halftime.
Hix, a freshman midfielder from Hawaii, had two goals in each half. She is second overall in scoring in the NWAC with 11 goals.
With their second
double-digit scoring game of the season, the Titans are the NWAC leaders with 53 goals so far in 2016. Only two others in the 27-team conference have scored 40 or more.
