Titans Lead at NWAACC Meet

SPOKANE — Lane’s men and women each lead after the first day of the NWAACC track and field championships at Spokane Falls Community College.

The Titan men have 99 points, 39 ahead of Spokane. Southwestern Oregon is ninth with two. Lane’s Zach Olivera jumped 15 feet, 7 inches to win the pole vault and take the only title for the Titans, who relied on depth to take the early lead. The meet concludes today.

Runners-up in Monday’s finals for Lane included Tre Hartney in the hammer, William Kunkle in the discus, Gabriel Rodriguez in the long jump and Theo Puentes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Lane’s women were led by long jump winner Shaneese Applegate, who jumped 18-6 1/2, pole vault winner Anna Jensen, at 11-8, and shot put winner Leah Wilson, at 42-9. The Titans scored 93 1/2 points, with Clackamas second with 78. Southwestern Oregon has 19 1/4 for fifth.

Madison Seaman was second in the shot put, Kayla Vasquez was second in the pole vault and Kara Hallock took second in the high jump and long jump.
