Titans 2011 Recruiting Class Updates

Coach Stiles and his staff are pleased to announce an additional 16 new baseball commitments for the 2011-2012 recruiting class.

In the outfield the Titans signed Spencer Smith, Taylor Burner and Maxx Gilhammer. Smith is in his senior year at Tigard High School, (Tigard, Ore.) his third year lettering for the Tigers and head coach Tom Campbell. Burner is an outfielder who bats and throws left-handed.  As a junior, Burner was named 1st team Mid-Valley conference and 2nd team All-State for the West Albany Bulldogs (Albany, Ore.). Gilhammer signed with the Titans from Camas High School (Camas, Wash.) where he bats right and throws left. He is and outfielder who has also seen quality innings on the mound for his Camas team.

To add to the infield depth, specifically up the middle, the Titans sign Nic Coffman and Blake Montague. Coffman is a middle infielder from Wilson High School (Portland, Ore.) who will bring versatility to the program. Montague is a senior at Southridge High School (Beaverton, Ore.) where he plays up the middle for head coach Don Fitzgerald and the Skyhawks.

Lane signed two more arms to the program including right-handed pitchers Tyler Johnson and Mychal Cornilles. Johnson is one of the local areas top talents from Thurston High School (Springfield, Ore.). He has experience starting and closing games for head coach Phile Dube and the Colts. Cornilles comes from Sunset High School (Beaverton, Ore.) where he pitches for head coach Danny Adams and the Apollo’s.  As a junior Cornilles compiled 47 strikeouts in 74 innings while collecting nine wins and four losses on the mound.
