Shields Double-Double Leads Lady Titans to First League Win

Megan Shields (Sherwood, OR.) opened Southern Region play with 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the undefeated Lane Titans (15-0, 1-0) to an 87-43 win over the Mt. Hood Saints.  Shields also added 4 blocks to her Lane career leading total.

The Titans bolted to a 6-0 lead and gradually increased that lead in the first half until they had a 50-13 halftime lead.  Balanced scoring throughout the first half and game highlighted the Titans first league win.  All twelve Lane players scored, Simone Thompson (Gardena, CA.) scored 12 pts, Nicole Hannifan (Milwaukee, OR.) added 10 pts and 6 rebounds plus Kersey Wilcox (Prineville, OR.) scored 9 pts and added 7 steals.

Lane continues Southern Region play next Wednesday, Jan. 9, with a home game versus the Linn-Benton Roadrunners.
