Mount Hood sweeps Lane

GRESHAM — Drew Nilan hit a three-run double that the Lane outfielder lost in the sun, and Corey Davis singled home Griffin Boyd with the game-winning run as Mount Hood defeated the Titans 5-4 in the opening game of an NWAACC baseball doubleheader on Thursday.

In the second game, Nic Fowler scored Boyd with a single in the fifth inning to lead Mount Hood to a 2-1 victory. Quinn Peck hit a solo home run for Lane.

Chance Cornish homered in the opener for Lane (11-9, 2-4 Southern Division), and Kyle Hoover had an RBI single. Josh Orr struck out 12 in 5 2/3 innings for the Titans.
