Lane women open tournament with rout of Everett

May and Smith lead the way as top-ranked Titans cruise to victory

PORTLAND — Brittany May scored 20 points and Ashley Smith added 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead Lane Community College to a 94-60 victory over Everett in the first round of the NWAACC Women’s Crossover Tournament on Friday night at Portland Community College.

Victoria Nnoli added 16 points, and Susan Smith had 13 points and 12 assists for the top-ranked Titans, who face No. 3 Walla Walla in the semifinals at 5 p.m. today.

Kristen Huff and Andrea Anderson scored 12 points apiece for Lane (7-0).

Mary Ochitree led Everett with 15 points, Anna Work added 14 and Rachel Boehme had 13.
