Lane wins Treasure Valley tournament

ONTARIO - Catcher Joe Offer was 2-for-5 with two runs batted in, and the Lane Community College baseball team defeated host Treasure Valley 3-2 in the Holiday Inn Classic championship game Saturday night.

Offer was named the tournament MVP.

Lane's Reed Nicholson allowed one earned run over seven innings to pick up the win, and Michael Akers added two hits and two runs.

The Titans defeated Big Bend of Moses Lake, Wash., 15-4 in their first game Saturday.

Larsen Kohler allowed one run over six innings. Chris Reed had four RBIs, Jimmy Sanchez had two hits and three RBIs, and Andrew Schumacher was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Titans, who open NWAACC league play Tuesday at Chemeketa.
