Lane splits baseball pair against SWOCC

Lane and Southwestern Oregon split a community college baseball doubleheader Saturday, with Ryan Ventura going 3-for-5 in the Lakers’ 8-7 victory in the opener.

Jimmy Sanchez was 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Titans (14-14, 9-7 NWAACC South), and Skip Spencer was 3-for-5.

Dawson Phinney struck out four, walked none and allowed seven hits in the 4-2 win for the Titans in the second game. Cody Williams threw a complete game one-hitter in the loss for SWOCC.

The Titans took advantage of six walks and two hit batsmen. Darrell Hunter and Elliott Sherrell each drove in a run with a sacrifice fly for Lane.
