Lane blowout extend’s home winning streak

The Lane Community College women’s basketball team extended its home win streak to 81 games on Saturday.

It didn’t take much effort to do so.

Ashley Smith led the way for the Titans, recording 33 points and 15 rebounds in a 79-37 victory against Linn-Benton Community College in the opening game of South Region play.

MaKenzie Ficek also scored 12 for Lane (11-2), which led 40-11 at halftime.

Sam Sanders led the Roadrunners with 10 points.
