Lane 84, Blue Mountain 65
03/08/2015 17:37Blue Mountain got another monster game from Mar'Shay Moore, but it wasn't enough to edge Lane, who powered past the Timberwolves for an 84-65 win to reach the semifinals for the third consecutive season.
Moore finished with 27 points, and is on pace to break the scoring record of 112 points set in 2014 by Clackamas guard Laci Effenberger. But for all of Moore's efforts, she wasn't enough to take on a much larger Lane roster.
The Titans were led in scoring by Maddie Kiplinger, who hit 14 of her 16 free throw attempts and finished with 20 points in the win.
Lane led by 10 points midway through the first half on a three-pointer from Bre DuBois, and led by four at the halftime break. The Titans quickly extended their lead to 13 in the first few minutes of the second half, going on a 9-2 run to take a 44-31 lead.
Bolstered by 55.6% shooting in the second half, Lane led by as many as 19 points on several occasions down the stretch, before closing out the game with a 19-point edge.
Blue Mountain moves to the fifth-place bracket and will play Clark on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Lane will play fellow Southern Region foe SW Oregon on Monday evening at 6 p.m. for a shot at the finals. [stats]
