Jensen leads LCC women to sixth

PORTLAND — Rachel Jensen finished in 34th place, covering the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes, 5.1 seconds, to lead Lane Community College to a sixth-place finish at the seven-team Puma Concordia Classic cross country meet on Saturday at Fernhill Park.

Laura Jackson (19:26.9) was 39th for the Titans, and Lisa Martin (19:48.8) finished 48th for the Titans, the only community college team in the field. Lane finished with 160 points. Simon Fraser won the meet with 20 points, and British Columbia was second with 66. Lane’s Macayla Claver, running unattached, ran 18:16.8 to finish 13th.

In the men’s half of the meet, Lane scored 195 points to finish in eighth place. British Columbia won the meet with 42 points.

Aria Kian had the best time in the meet for the Titans, running the 8,000-meter course in 26:52.5 to finish in 35th place, and Michael Bellamy ran 27:23.7 to finish 43rd.
