Highline knocks off Lane women

BELLEVUE — Jada Piper scored 18 points, and Highline broke Lane Community College’s nine-game women’s basketball winning streak with a 74-68 victory in the semifinals of the Bellevue Crossover Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

The loss puts Lane (10-2) in the third-place game at 1 p.m. today.

Tori Mahaffie led Lane with 18 points and Shelby Snook added 17. Brandy Blackburn pulled down nine rebounds. Victoria Elleby added 16 points for Highline (7-1).
