Geydon, Titans roll at NWAACC meet

Freshman Elias Geydon led a dominating performance by the Lane men at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges South Region cross country meet hosted by LCC on Saturday.

Geydon won the 8,000-meter race in 25 minutes, 47 seconds to lead a near sweep of the top five spots by the Titans. Sophomore Jacob Berkner was second in 26:09, and freshmen Sam Van De Velde, Aaron Kirch and Theo Puentes were within one second of each other in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Van De Velde and Kirch were timed in 26:35 and Puentes in 26:36. The only break in the Lane chain was Badane Sultessa of Clackamas taking third in 26:30.

The Titans won with 18 points. Clackamas was second with 54 and Treasure Valley third with 69.

Treasure Valley won the women’s title with 22 points. Southwestern Oregon was second with 44 and Lane third with 63.

Christa Collmer won the 5,000-meter event in 19:27. Freshman Macauley Wilson was fourth in the team race and eighth overall for Lane in 20:59.

The Titans’ other scorers were freshmen Blair Harris (10th/16th, 21:52), Ana Villa-Amparo (15th/24th, 23:44), Allie Church (16th/26th, 24:35) and Rochelle Pappel (18th/28th, 24:54).
